The end? I think not!
Well I turned this project in last Tuesday with a short presentation to the class...I will let you know my grade? Anyway, while I do not have the time or money to ride the train back and forth for hours all the time, like I did for or this project, I do still want to do these sketches when I have the chance..maybe it will turn into something really cool. Last night I only did one cause it was late and I was very sleepy, but I will share it with you anyway.

Trial Run
This weekend was sort of a trial run for the project so I could figure out where I was going to have problems.
Problem A: I need to never ever get on the train at rush hour. When I needed to tape a picture to a seat, someone else would sit there after the first person left. I also didn't have much room to do alot of drawing. It's hard to be discreet with alot of people :/.
Probelm B: As people were becoming aware of what I was doing, it was becoming increasingly uncomfortable. I admit that this kind of caused me to not get very many pictures from farther back. Much staring. I think I could easily solve this problem by bringing a friend with me so I don't feel so self-conscious.
Note to self: Wait til train stops to take the picture. Less Blurry.
Next time will be better, kids. This weekend.
In the meantime, here are the first pictures and stories, along with som pictures pre-train ride. Pre-cheating the train system. OOps.

The idea

Public Intervention / Creative Disruption
ENTRANCE - ways to enter into this project:
ISSUE BASED – Is there a specific issue that you feel strongly about and would like to act on, or comment on in some way? That issue may be a public or social issue – global, national, regional or local. Examples: Global warming, Genocide in Darfur, Health Care in the US, Crime rate in Philadelphia. OR, your issue can be more personal in nature. Examples: cost of education, family, relationships, etc. Any issue is valid as a subject– from personal to far reaching – from political to social and beyond.
SITE BASED – Is there a particular site or place that interests you, yet you know little about it? It is peculiar, odd or particular in terms of its physical presence in the city? Does the site have a hidden history that you are interested in exposing? Example: a single house on a block with all businesses, a small sliver between 2 buildings. Sites might be in multiples, scattered about the city, but relational in some way. {to locate a site, you may have to traverse the city very slowly, pay very close attention, and question every site, every space}
MANIFESTATION - ways In which your project might manifest itself:
Distribution / multiples
Installation / Deposit
Action / Event / Happening / Performance
My Idea:
Make small sketches of passengers on the train, and short made-up stories to go with them. When they get up to leave, leave the sketch and story there, along with a link to this website and the date, time, etc.
